How to Clean Your Invisalign Trays in 5 Easy Steps

Cleaning your Invisalign aligners can be done in a variety of ways. We recommend you to use the type of cleaning that best suits your dental hygiene routine and preferences.

Warning: Always check with your orthodontist before purchasing any product. Follow all of the instructions on the package.

     1.  Soap with antibacterial properties

Yes, a basic bar of soap will suffice! Use a clear antibacterial soap instead of coloured soaps, as coloured soaps can stain your aligners.  Cleaning your aligners is as simple as soaking them in lukewarm soapy water for 20 minutes. This procedure not only removes smells, but it also removes calcium and mineral deposits that may have built up in your aligners. When you're finished, give your aligners a good rinse so they don't leave a soapy flavour in your

mouth.

     2. White Vinegar, Distilled

This is a tried-and-true cleaning method that gets the job done. Vinegar has mild disinfectant capabilities that might help you get rid of odours and microorganisms on your braces. The procedure is simple to follow.

Using a vinegar solution to clean aligners:

Combine white vinegar and lukewarm water in a small container (1:3 ratio).

After 20 minutes in the solution, rinse your aligners in cold water.

   3. Soda (baking)

Another option for yellowing aligners is baking soda. Baking soda has natural whitening characteristics, making it the ideal alternative for preventing yellowing and restoring the appearance of your aligners to their original state.

Mix one tablespoon baking soda with 12 cup water in a small container. Soak your aligners for 60 minutes after gently mixing till a paste forms. After that, clean your aligners with lukewarm water, and they should be clear again.

  4Peroxide (H2O2)

In low concentrations, hydrogen peroxide is an excellent stain remover that is gentle enough to use on your aligners.

How to clean discoloured invisalign attachments or trays is as follows:

1.       Combine the hydrogen peroxide and warm water in a bowl and soak your aligners for 30 minutes.

2.        Remove any remaining plaque from your aligners with a toothbrush and lukewarm water

   5. Crystals for Invisalign

Crystals for cleaning Invisalign trays and attachments have been specially developed. They're simple to use and won't damage or discolour your aligners in any way.

How to clean invisalign using invisalign crystals is as follows:

1.       Choose a container that can hold both of your Invisalign trays (we recommend keeping this container solely for your Invisalign trays!)

2.       Fill the container halfway with hot water

3.       To dissolve the cleaning crystals, open a packet and mix it into the water until it is entirely dissolved.

4.       Place your trays in the solution for 15 minutes to soak

5.       Remove the trays from the cleaning solution and brush them thoroughly!

6.       Rinse your trays and re-insert them into your mouth
